The European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA) is a no-profit trade association represent nearly 4.400 companies in the European Union (EU). We are involved in continuous dialogue with EU and international institutions, national agencies and other industry sectors.

Our mission
- Represent the European Tyre and Rubber Industry in and contributing to National, European and Global policy and decision-making processes;
- Advocate the Industry’s priorities and position by being a trusted and credible partner for decision-makers;
- Support the frameworks to promote the sustainability and circularity of the Industry in Europe;
- Strive to ensure that the critical economic, environmental and social contributions of the Industry are understood and recognised by our stakeholders; and
- Promote free and fair Global trade and competition.

In our Manifesto, we call on European policymakers to join the tyre and rubber industry in setting an agenda for a competitive Europe that:
- Recognises the strategic role of the European tyre and rubber industry and enhances its competitiveness.
- Safeguards the single market by effectively implementing and enforcing legislation.
- Encourages investment in Europe through consistent and proportionate future regulation
- Increases Europe’s sustainability by designing and manufacturing circular and renewable products.
- Increases consumer choice, improves sustainable mobility and makes roads safer by enabling digital mobility systems.
Our footprint
The global sales of ETRMA’s 14 corporate members represent 70% of total global sales and 8 out of 10 world leaders in the sector are ETRMA Members. We have a strong manufacturing and research presence within the EU and candidate countries, with over 70 tyre-producing plants and over 20 R&D centres.
The EU tyre manufacturing industry has an annual economic footprint of €43.9 billion and is responsible for more than 112,000 jobs in manufacturing, distribution and retailing. The industry supports more than 387,000 additional jobs in supplier and induced activities, totaling nearly 500,000 jobs across the EU.
